Everyone who has seen the video of Charlie has felt it was important to see. It is completely different to read about it than to see it with your own eyes. There is a temptation to save one’s worldview by hoping it wasn’t as bad as it was. The video makes that impossible.
Videos of consequential events show their reality. We rarely see victims of our wars: to hide the carnage. Factory farms made it illegal to film the savagery inside. Videos from Gaza show the atrocities. Videos of Kirk's murder are horrific, and for that reason should be seen.
Charlie Kirk reminded us that a life of courage and virtue isn’t easy—but it’s worth living. His example should inspire us all to stand boldly for what’s right.
