Renewables have seen massive growth over the last decade right? 10ys ago: ~80% global energy use was fossil fuel. Today, its still ~80%. Global energy consumption continues to grow. Sadly so too does use of fossil fuels. There is a major need to reduce overall consumption.
Energy efficiency is the unsung hero of Europe’s industrial competitiveness. Without efficiency gains since 2000, industry would use 1/3 more energy—costing tens of billions more every year. It’s not just energy prices that matter, but how smartly we use energy.
This can't be repeated often enough A BEV consumes about 160 kg of 🔋 battery cell materials over its lifetime. And at the end of life 70% - 90% is recovered. An ICE burns through 17,000 liters of fuel. Gone. No recovery. No recycling. Just burned into the atmosphere.
Solar will win. It's physics.
Did you know how much of the power generation capacity added each year world-wide was in renewables? 2022 it was 80 % 2023 it was 86 % 2024 it was 92,5 % Not because the whole world suddenly turned „woke“, but because it’s the cheapest!
NEW | World surpasses 40% clean power in 2024, driven by a RECORD rise in renewables 📈 Solar has DOUBLED in just three years, remaining the world’s fastest-growing source of new electricity and the engine of the energy transition ⚡ ember-energy.org/latest-insight… #GER2025

Pessimists sound clever. Optimists change the world. I love this depiction of the energy transition by RMI.
Worried on solar canniballisation? It doesn't take a lot of battery to maintain solar revenues☀️ We modelled changing revenues for 90MW solar +120MWh battery using spot power prices.. ember-energy.org/latest-insight…
NEW ANALYSIS: Right-leaning UK newspaper editorials have relentlessly attacked energy secretary Ed Miliband since last year's election, calling him "hysterical", a "madman" & "demented" The papers have also published a record number of editorials opposing climate action… 1/2
The analysis by my colleague Josh Gabbatiss with Sylvia Hayes at Uni of Exeter shows right-leaning newspapers reverting to opposing climate action, having briefly shown (illusory?) support during Boris Johnson's premiership and around COP26 Details: carbonbrief.org/analysis-uk-ne… 2/2
We’ve launched a consultation to shape the 2030 phase-out of the sale of new petrol and diesel cars, which will: ✅ Support jobs and industry ✅ Encourage car manufacturers to invest in the UK ✅ Help more people switch to electric All part of our Plan for Change.
This "Ireland is Antisemitic" line is so false. Facts show that Ireland is one of the least Antisemitic states in Europe, and it comes from an Israeli source Source: Tel Aviv University report 2023 🇮🇪 isnt Antisemitic, It's antigenocide & anticolonial #Paddystinian #Ireland
🇫🇷Paris got rid of ICE vehicle air pollution in the city and is a global role model of what all cities should do. The drastic improvement in air quality was made possible by the construction of hundreds of kilometers of new cycle paths, the introduction of a 30 km/h speed limit…

All those who claim that BEVs consume a lot of minerals should read the facts, stop using their ICE vehicle immediately, and buy a BEV.
For all those who blame renewables for the high price of energy, this is the reality. When renewables are providing the highest proportion of energy to the grid, the price drops. When gas does it, it more than doubles. It is FF's that keep energy prices high, renewables lower…
