Cladding Victim
@VictimCladding
Runcorn based victim of the #BuildingSafetyCrisis. Our development The Decks, built by @TaylorWimpey, has HPL cladding + other build issues.

Does anyone know what these legal reasons could be? Taylor Wimpey are paying to remediate & the work, due to start last May, still hasn't begun. @LongHarbourLtd are getting a free upgrade to their building, so why are they and management agent @ScanlansLLP delaying?
Posted on our developments Facebook group. People here are in real trouble and @UKLabour aren't doing anything to help. You lied to us to get our votes @AngelaRayner @mtpennycook and that won't be forgotten.
If @UKLabour betray us over this there'll be a few million people including me (a life long Labour voter) who will never vote for them again @Keir_Starmer @mtpennycook

Blaming subcontractors for shoddy work is the next stage of the #BuildingSafetyCrisis
Construction giant @BouyguesUK says there may have been an error made by a subcontractor. Design differed apparently to what they thought. Quite a big error it seems.
Two years ago @TaylorWimpey announced that they would pay to fix building safety defects @Thedecksruncorn. Since then we have heard nothing and there are currently no plans to start. @michaelgove @lisanandy
"The majority have no timescale for when works will complete and only around 10% expect them to do so within the next 12 months. (...) 78.8% cannot remortgage despite banks stating their willingness to offer mortgages." @Peteapps reports on our survey👇 insidehousing.co.uk/insight/insigh…
Our MA had secured building safety funds for the 3 buildings at our development that are >18m with original developer Taylor Wimpey agreeing to cover the costs for the 3 <18m buildings. Why have @luhc now withdrawn their funding?
It has also had impacts on hundreds of l'holders across the country. Many have put hours of their own time into challenging these forms and put their lives on hold because of it. I remember the words of Cecilia, one @MojoResidents l'holder, who had bought her flat in Nov 2019
.@SimonClarkeMP I live in a 6 building development in Runcorn. 3 buildings are <18m which Taylor Wimpey last year promised to pay to fix & 3 are >18m & are still waiting for govt funding. Insurance has risen 750% since 2019 & many of us are struggling to pay.
Some good news for leaseholders and potentially bad news for @BritishInsurers and @HomeBuildersFed . The new SoS @SimonClarkeMP makes clear there is no turning back @EOCS_Official @NLC_2019
Why is there a delay in BSF allocation? Work on our development was due to have started by now. It hasn't because our MA is still waiting for funding. @michaelgove @team_greenhalgh @luhc
Are leaseholders going to have to pay for a BSM in a different name @team_greenhalgh? I thought the whole point of removing it was to spare us from further costs?

Have @TaylorWimpey reneged on their promise to cover the cost of remediation @Thedecksruncorn? Our MA say we should have had word by now when work will be starting but so far we've heard nothing.
Please look at this cost @michaelgove & @team_greenhalgh. Why is it necessary when MA's do most of this now? How many other countries have this role?
🚩🚩🚩WARNING! The #BuildingSafetyManager will cost many leaseholders more than cladding remediation. Salary of £60,000 is £1,463 per flat in my building. That's £122 per month, more than double Jenricks proposed £50 loan. Unlike cladding costs the BSM cost will be never ending.

Hi @team_greenhalgh, have you had the chance to look at the Building Safety Manager role yet?
This has prompted me to have a further look at the BSM role. I do not want to see unnecessary costs loaded on to leaseholders.
Meanwhile plenty of us will really struggle to afford waking watch and insurance costs.
Our MA has said they have 2 brokers working on our 2022 renewal & both have indicated that the premium will not increase any further. How do they know this already if they're still working on it? Sounds like some shady backroom deal has already been done🤑🤮
Please demand he bans insurance commissions. Leaseholders in dangerously clad (and safe) buildings are being massively ripped off on buildings insurance here. Can be up to 60% commission to brokers, freeholders and managing agents! independent.co.uk/news/business/… cc @team_greenhalgh
The content and high-handed tone of this letter from @SimonClarkeMP really is a disgrace. Successive govts knew about dangerous cladding and did nothing. They put our lives in danger & @hmtreasury now not only refuses to help but makes a profit off us from WW & remediation VAT🤬
SCOOP: Michael Gove to announce dangerous cladding policy changes next week- letter from Treasury to DLUHC confirms: -leaseholders in buildings 11-18m spared cladding costs -Gove to try to make developers pay £4bn but no new public money -And this will cover cladding only.
Hi @lisanandy. This letter is a trap and intended to buy off Tory rebels. As you are shadowing Michael Gove can I ask you how @UKLabour is going to respond?

Exactly this. Announcement obviously timed to buy off rebels. Too little money offered and no legislation. This letter is a trap.
