JavaScript top-level await is no longer considered 'baseline' due to a pretty big Safari bug caniuse.com/mdn-javascript… The module graph fails in cases where two modules import a third at the same time. Demo: random-stuff.jakearchibald.com/bug-repros/top… It's best to avoid the feature for now 😔

this bug is the reason I am trying to provide a basic utility that would take care of everything out of the box as the dance to persist users' choice on local FileSystem access is nearly unbearable and convoluted in branches and operations to do ... 🥲 issues.chromium.org/issues/4545310…

watch out developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web… returns true while live-debugging because typing in devtools automatically activate transient mode. This might be a huge source of confusion and WYSI-NOT-WYG 👋

I loved *this* way to move forward and I wish James the best new adventure in his career ❤️

Major life update from me: I left Stripe! it's been a great 5.5 years at Stripe, now I'm looking for something new. let's chat? also launching something, see video? → email: longster at gmail com → was staff software engineer at Stripe for 5.5 years, rebuilt design system…

AWS outage and not a single minute wasted of my day because it didn't affect any of my workflows feel like I am "not what cool kids do these days" kind of person ... a bit sad and almost as scary as the doorbell not showing me who's ringing such bell 😅
