According to Motability there are at most 860,000 Motability cars. According to gov stats there are an estimated 34.1 million cars on the road. Allowing for errors, fewer than 3% of cars on the road are Motability cars.

The most interesting thing about the comments is that everyone jumps to disabled = disability benefits. (and most miss that "can be" isn't the same as "always is") Most disabled people aren't disabled enough to claim benefits. They might at a push get more support at work.

No. Stop this. Stages of life, however tricky, unpleasant, exhausting and deserving of sympathy, are not disabilities.

Used to be my carers actually cooked, "plan B" was them heating a microwave meal, "plan C" referral to meals on wheels. My council has completely closed down meals on wheels. Due care cuts you must get microwave meals which your carers cook. So I have no back up plan at all.

If you're judging disabled people for using takeaway services, you don’t understand disability. Cooking isn’t easy for everyone, especially if you’re disabled. Pain, fatigue, mobility issues, brain fog, sensory overload, cognitive issues, flaring, inaccessible kitchens - it can…

Seriously though. How much do those cost? Makes me want to upgrade my electric wheelchair!

“POV.. got tired of him saying he didn't understand why there was a wrong/ right way to load the dishwasher. So I decided to mow today.” You have just won that argument forever for every woman ever. 😆

I keep getting adverts encouraging me to become an uber driver. I don't know what algorithm decided this was a good idea, but it needs to go back to the drawing board. My medically revoked driving license is a major barrier to that career just for starters!

I’ve tabled amendment that says the cost of assisted dying needs to be published. Also what services will be stopped to do this

Very distressing answer from Stephen Kinnock when asked why the panel is unable to reject an application for early death caused by poor social care or support by @BaronessEB - citing @JamillaHussain1 & @Tanni_GT His tldr answer is: well, they’re dying anyway so who cares?

"If you're disabled you're not ill" Worrying that the author doesn't understand the basics of illness and disability. You can be healthy and disabled. You can have a disabling illness. My most disabling issues are the illness symptoms not the muscular degen + wheelchair use.

I wish people who dislike #ReformUK would STOP calling them #Deform. I'm deformed. You've no idea how hard my life already is without you casually adding to my stigma. Please don't use #disability to mock politicians you disapprove of. It's a form of #Disablism/#Ableism. #Reform

I mention that I'm disabled, and that I use an electric wheelchair, not because it is my identity, but because when advocating for accessibility I often got accused of "using disabled people". I'm not speaking for every disabled person, but can speak from my own experiences.

If you have a mental illness or a disability and you display that on your bio go and delete that right now. Replace it with something like a hobby or a profession or something fun you like to do. If you center your identity around your illness your psyche will do insane things to…

Me,fondly remembering the time I decided I didn't really need all those nasty epilepsy meds any more. Spoiler: it didn't end well.

Get off all their poison and watch your health improve dramatically.

A treasury source said Reeves was “100 per cent committed to ensuring the scheme is there for those who need it most” but noted only one in 10 of its cars were adapted. YOU DON'T NEED TO ADAPT A CAR TO FIT A WHEELCHAIR IN THE BOOT. More hostile narrative towards disabled people.

I need every single person who told disabled people “it’s not that deep” and “MAiD isn’t being recommended to anyone who isn’t terminally ill” to take a long walk off a short pier
