There are still NZ scaffolding companies taking shortcuts on safety like allowing unsupervised spannerhands to erect tall & technical scaffolds and illegally signing the Safe Tags. It will take a fatality before something is done about it.


In NZ the distance between scaffolding and power lines are 4m but always good when a client asks for your inspection. No issues here.

I New Zealand, scaffolders who obtained their qualifications in the 1970's to 1990's did not have to go through a strict assessment regime. Today virtually all of those scaffolders have never been re-assessed and their qualifications updated with knowledge of current guidelines.


I intend to raise weekly questions within our global construction community about whether the company you work for places profit above worker safety. Just remember, Senior Executives are workers too. @WorkStressKills
