Problem there is the fragility of a HDD & 32GB Optane @ 77USD + ~40-50USD for .5-1TB HD, while 5xxGB SSDs is 130-200USD (850EVO @ 175USD)
I'm not so sure.. those of us in the market for fast laptops happily justify lots of SSDs (like the 2TB split over 3 SSDs in my Dell M4800)
I don't.. HDDs live in the ZFS NAS, which has it's own RAMcache (36GiB atm)
To be fair.. it is Mad Catz... When the news broke, my first thought was "isn't this the 6th bankruptcy or something?"
Well, the OEMs don't give a crap: they use screwed-in variants anyways. The big 3 do at least..
