After a slow start we now have reports of Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers feeding young. If you found birds earlier in the year, please revisit the area & the adults may lead you to find the nest. This female LSW was snug in the nest cavity incubating 4 eggs last week & now has young.

Support LesserSpotNet, visit your local woods in March to find Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers, they are calling & drumming and easier to find before the leaves come out. See our guide to finding & monitoring nests and our report of 2020's nests on our website woodpecker-network.org.uk

Also watched this green spider running away from a male common lizard. It managed to escape by climbing up a molinia flower spike and lost a leg to the lizard in the process! @SurreyWT @BritishSpiders @ARC_Bytes
