I've been using Claude Code for a few months now and I keep thinking about why it feels so different from everything else. Everyone's trying to build "AI-powered" versions of existing apps. AI Photoshop. AI spreadsheets. AI whatever. More interfaces, more buttons, more layers…
There'll always be more emails in need of reply, more meetings to attend, and more updates to read. A person can fill the entire workweek with these tasks over and over again. But to stay sane and sharp, you must pay yourself first by doing the work that actually means something…
YOU CANNOT COMPETE WITH SOMEONE WHO IS HAVING FUN
Typing practice on Keybr is the perfect mini-task while waiting for ai code agents to finish. - Doesn't add to or shift mental context - Helps improve a skill - Micro sized (~30 secs / round) - Not exciting enough to suck me in
I love when Claude tells me something will take 6 weeks. No dude, we are doing it this afternoon.
Anthropic co-founder Ben Mann on why he chose Montessori for his daughter: "If this were 10-20 years ago, I'd be lining her up for top-tier schools and extracurriculars. But now I don't think any of it's going to matter. Learning facts is going to fade into the background. What…
Ben Mann (@8enmann) left @OpenAI in 2020 with the entire safety team to co-found @AnthropicAI (now reportedly valued at over $100B). In a rare interview, Ben opens up about: 🔸 What he saw at OpenAI that convinced him to leave 🔸 The AI nightmare scenarios that concern him…
I don’t mean to be a broken record but AI development could stop at the o3/Gemini 2.5 level and we would have a decade of major changes across entire professions & industries (medicine, law, education, coding…) as we figure out how to actually use it. AI disruption is baked in.
I’m starting to become convinced you actually become a better programmer by having the LLMs write the code, because programming is less about writing code and more about clear thinking, and free-form writing forces you to think. The code is downstream from that.
A balanced life has work, friends, family, health, hobbies, etc. An imbalanced life goes very deep in one at the expense of the rest. I think you want life to have chapters of balance and imbalance. Happiness comes from balance, progress comes from imbalance.
More and more, I have lost conviction that “minimum viable products” make sense for product development. It makes no sense to release a product with the core flow and then dismiss its viability after the aggregate data says people aren’t using it. Instead, founders should have…
How is it that the #1 killer in the world is nearly 90% preventable? I blame on the mis-information / focus on cholesterol. Half of heart deaths have normal cholesterol! A Calcium CT Scan is the best 15 mins & $200 u could possible spend to extend your life. Get it done! 🤍🙏
.@JeffBezos embodies the wisdom that good writing is good thinking. what an exceptional piece of writing. much to learn.
Surprised no one seems to be talking about how great the new @perplexity_ai Mac desktop app is. Keyboard shortcut -> Speak my question -> Instant Researched Answer 🤯
I think more people need to start "SaaS" companies. "Service as a Software" 1. Build your own in-house software 2. Fill gaps and enhance the results manually 3. Deliver a premium experience. Frontend = Service Backend = SaaS Earn big like service - deliver fast like SaaS.
NotebookLM updates (since people are loving it): - You can now share Audio Overview via a public URL, accessible to everyone by default - Support added for YouTube videos and audio files as new source materials Enjoy : ) blog.google/technology/ai/…
the "end state" of most ai apps probably wont be a platform its a gonna be an ai agent talking with you on slack doing the work of 10 employees at once and then when its done, it sends you the finished project
