Solar should be made in America. From Corning's solar wafers in Michigan to planned T1 Energy and Talon PV solar cell fabs in Texas. Time to Build! Who's in?
Time to Build!
T1 Energy is making a strategic investment in Talon PV, a Houston company preparing to build a 4.8 GW solar cell plant in Baytown, TX. And we’re still going full speed ahead on our 5 GW G2_Austin solar cell plant outside of Austin. Texas: Home to advanced solar manufacturing & a…

It’s time to build and time to build now! That’s why @T1_Energy partnered with @PalantirTech to use AI and data to drive our decisions. The U.S. needs to rapidly and effectively build a solar supply chain. We’re doing it. Palantir is a valuable ally.
Texas is nearing 100 gigawatts of emission-free power (solar, wind, storage, nuclear). EIA reported yesterday that the US will install 50 gigawatts of solar + storage in 2025, 40% of it in Texas. That & much more in today's Grid Roundup. Link in reply.
6,000 American jobs. A Domestic Solar Supply Chain. Energy Security. T1 x Corning Agreement Is Bringing Solar Home. Time to Build!
Hey Norway, lets flip the switch, turn on the power and start building. Empty buildings aren't good for anything but filming horror movies. Det er tid for å bygge! Time to Build!
Found this helpful graphic from 2014... damn fine way to explain horizontal fracking vs. old school vertical
Nations that will lead in AI are those with abundant electricity. And the U.S. is headed to an electricity shortage. We need to be adding solar+storage today (and tomorrow and the day after.) Gas+nukes will join the party in the 2030s. Let's build.
We're pleased to report significant progress on the G2_Austin Solar Cell Facility. More jobs and American advanced manufacturing is on the way. ir.t1energy.com/news-releases/…
People keep saying that "batteries are bad" because: "batteries don't create energy. batteries consume energy." Nothing. Creates. Energy. Energy is neither created nor destroyed. "Energy production" and "energy consumption" are economic terms — not physics terms. We don't…
I keep seeing "sure, maybe solar works, but what about all the materials you need for the batteries?" A battery that can store 100% of the daily production of a solar panel - *weighs less than the solar panel.* Batteries are the most mass efficient way to provide peak power.…
We need to build solar at a much faster rate. China is building more nuclear plants than the rest of the world combined, yet their solar generation grew 25x faster than nuclear last year. (+250 TWh vs +10 TWh) Solar is the fastest growing source of electricity in China by a…
"China's going nuclear while we build solar" couldn't be further from the truth. China's nuclear generation is growing, but it's still only half as much as the U.S. Every single month since January 2023, solar generated more electricity than nuclear in China. China's solar…
Solar is the fastest growing source of electricity globally. It’s the fastest growing source in the U.S. The future of American energy is solar. The future of American solar is made in the U.S.A
Solar power has become the engine of the global energy transition, setting records in both generation and capacity installations in 2024. Solar generation has DOUBLED in the last three years - adding more electricity than any other source over the same period ☀️ 3/10
Texas built more solar than any other state in 2024. We’re building cell and module capacity here in Texas.
6/ This will obviously be easiest to do first in the Southwest, but even the Northeast isn’t exactly the North Pole — pretty solid sunshine all things considered.
Solar and batteries are providing the expansion in generation we need to power manufacturing, electrification, and AI. We need to make them in America.
Why were solar and storage 84% of new grid additions last year? They're FAST and AFFORDABLE. seia.org/news/report-so…
Q4 #earnings & full year results out now! Highlights include G1 Dallas' production ramp running ahead of schedule, a site selected in Milam County, TX, for our #solar cell manufacturing facility, our 1st commercial sales from G1 Dallas, & more. Read more: bit.ly/Q43G1
All solar is quickly becoming solar + storage. A solar farm already pays for a lot of the infrastructure needed to connect batteries to the grid. Batteries let you put more panels on the same interconnection and they let you sell power at more valuable times.
And, on EIA US-wide estimates, 2025 will see 0.6GW of battery capacity for every 1GW of solar added 👏
