Insanity. This is just the dominant car companies leveraging their market power in car manufacturing to monopolize the aftermarkets for key fobs, GPS, CarPlay, etc. These are tying arrangements and they violate the antitrust laws. They should be attacked ASAP.

Your regular reminder that replacing a regular lane with a cycle lane does not reduce road capacity, it massively increases it, because single occupancy vehicles are the least space-efficient form of transport. You just can't take advantage of that capacity increase in your SUV.

Car deaths in America have plummeted over the last century. This is a perfect example of how the world is actually improving despite what you're being told daily.
Driving is often the only option when forced to evacuate. The inefficiency of driving is also rarely more pronounced than it is here.
