Artetaball. These are all clips of some of the brilliant football Arsenal have played under Arteta. (A THREAD)
Pep is schooling Iraola tactically right now. Not only are City overloading Bournemouth like crazy centrally. Bournemouth are letting runners free by playing a high line without the defenders to cope.
How can you be 6’5’ and claim crosses with such little authority. This guy is always punching stuff.
Sometimes I don’t actually realize how good our players are. Games like today remind me of that.
Gyokeres has looked exceptional today. Best performance in an Arsenal shirt. This is the type of link-play I want to see more often. He will always give you relentless runs in the channels.
How are these crosses so consistent from Rice? It’s like every ball is either straight on the keeper or on an Arsenal player’s head.
It’s always fulfilling to see a player you rated before they signed, perform exactly how you thought they would when they put on the shirt.
That Ben White clipped long pass in-behind to the RW is Trent-esque. He’s easily our best deep passer in the backline.
I’ll put it like this is, he’s had some solid/good performances. But if Gyokeres didn’t score any goals this season and he wasn’t there, we wouldn’t be any worse off. But if Eze or Martinelli weren’t there and didn’t contribute any G/A we’d be worse off.
It's easier for them to single out Gyokeres because it was well reported he wasn't Arteta's first choice. As soon as Isak starts hitting form, they'll be on Gyok's case. I disagree that he's been poor, though. He's doing stuff that I never thought he's capable of.
This is exactly what I said. A lot of people are biting their tongues on Gyokeres because we’re winning right now and don’t want to ruin the vibes or come across a certain way. If we start dropping points the true opinions will come out.
The only reason I haven’t really discussed his performances are because we’re still winning. But my word, let’s be honest, he’s been bad. The clearest upgradable position in this team is still at CF.
Man does Gabriel give me so much security defensively, he doesn’t look elegant doing it so doesn’t get as much credit as other CBs. Barely anything gets past him, such a rock.
It's pretty crazy to think about, even at our worst moments we never lost 4 games in a row under Arteta like Liverpool have.
Liverpool and United both teams where even if they have system flaws, their attacking quality will keep them in games and win points.
Since day one I still remember those ramsdale diags we used to do Specifically remember the one against city
Martinelli’s first touch is immaculate. One of the traits about him that gets so overlooked. It makes no sense how he controlling some of those passes so easily.
These Declan Rice’s deliveries are outrageous, David Beckham esque on a consistent basis, something else.
UCL Martinelli is going absolutely crazy man. Our second best big game attacker after Saka.
