Interviewee is getting a shitty interview experience. Interviewer thinks this was worth it cause now they have a “story to tell”. Performative garbage
chat she started interviewing a founding engineer mid dinner 💀
Drove to 25 restaurants and spoke with multiple owners for around 15-30 min each across 9.5 hours. Was surprised at the positive feedback and how eager people are to join our platform! Sales on foot is underrated, people cant hang up on you
Have a very strong urge to experiment creating a virtual company staffed with only AI employees (engineers, marketers, etc) and have them build product, sell, market, and work to sustain the company and respond to stimulus with zero human intervention. Who is building this?
The smartest people I know are not working for anyone
In a world full of AI wrappers, we’re building something to help small businesses actually grow We got over 23+ restaurants in a single day!
Along with building the Halal Rewards Club app, we are also going full throttle on marketing and making content. This was us at the most recent Halal Food Festival. Follow our IG to stay updated on what we are doing next.
Still working for it
what was the moment when this happened in your life?
I just oneshotted an SMS campaign marketing feature with gemini 3... insane
Ruby on Rails: You’re trying to understand how some code works. Open a controller file and it’s short, predictable, exactly where it should be. Open a model file, same story. And another. And another. This happens like 75 times. It’s legitimately hard to find a place where…
Java: You're trying to understand how some code works. Open a file, it's ~20 lines of trivial boilerplate and getters/setters. Open another, same. And another. And another. This happens like 75 times. It's legitimately hard to find a place where anything is actually being done.
One of my contracts is coming to an end and I’ll have the pending remainder of the year to build things I’ve been wanting to for a long time. -> a lot of automation for the o&g domain -> a RAG-ready Rails boilerplate -> something special involving drone flight planning
I hate when people use "acquired" as a euphemism to cover up that they failed. No need to skew public perception. People are not stupid. This is something I've noticed with a lot of investor-backed founders. Bootstrappers seem to own their mistakes and failures
C# is such a good language but then you get reminded quickly how dotnet devs have an abstraction fetish so you end up never touching the ecosystem again
Anecdotal, but when I go to a meetup, the VC-backed founder always goes on and on about their funding and the bootstrapped founder goes on to show screenshots of what they're building. It shows alot about who actually cares for their customer/product vs their clout
You can have the most mediocre product in the world but as long as your service is good, people will buy You need to provide customer service like the milkman from the 50s
I strongly believe all these attempts to build interfaces with AI are bad I see a world where AI is abstract like electricity, we don't see it but its there No one is reimagining an interface that just exists in the background The answer isn't a wearable imo
Wild how webdev is the easiest kind of programming area (compared to robotics, embedded systems, etc), yet bloated with the most tooling available Companies have convinced themselves they are building something so unique that requires rocket science solutions
The only consumers that care about AI are those in SF that work in tech. People on this app are extremely out of touch with reality
