The reason book criticism is dying off is because books no longer have the cultural cachet or influence to be the center of the cultural discourse. The last novel people that was significant enough to drive any cultural discourse was “The Goldfinch,” which came out in 2013.…

I waited for the accusation. All I got was a dangling verb. I suspect he’s never opened a grammar book.

I suspect anyone who says he has read more than 100 books in his lifetime. A good book is read, re-read and still re-read. And you can't do this with more than a 100 books.
