Sad news. Fred did so much for the information security community - and so much for therefore for the world. He was also a real pleasure to know. RIP.

We need to cultivate a culture of free thought, open discussion and civility. We owe that to our students and to the very best traditions of higher education. Intolerant open letters do the opposite.
