Cross-continent teleop is quite insane when you think about it. It's remote work for atoms, not bits. For the first time, we can apply the cost advantages of outsourced labor to the physical economy. Starlink is only going to accelerate this.

The world's perception of 1X's product launch is fascinating. Some thoughts: * 1X's product is to give you 3 to 4 hours of in-home labor that does some chores well and more chores to an okay level, but in a completely safe and compliant manner. * At $500/month. For 120 hours a…

I first read this piece in 2021, but I keep coming back to it. the internet is a dark forest. to rally resources, you need to light fires that attract other wanderers. be a "net exporter of culture" create more ideas, memes, aesthetics etc than you consume. the bar is higher…

people always ask why i care so much about culture… why i read about it, write about it, post about it. it’s very simple: it’s the only layer that actually matters. everything else… tech, markets, relationships, politics is just emergent behavior stacked on top. they’re…

occasionally, picking, not access, still matters.

the Anthropic founding round was basically a handful of angels investing tens of millions of personal capital 20+ of the sand hill VCs we pitched passed the series A and B were even harder it wasn’t until Spark led the series C that the VCs finally started getting it

Little known fact— Aryan is one of the first ppl on earth outside of 1X to live w a NEO

Dar is a special human and has poured his creative soul into @1x_tech Excited for the world to experience their work.

I joined 1X because Bernt & Eric asked me if I could help them make NEO into something simple enough for anyone on earth to use and give it to the world. It felt like having a couple strangers come up to me and offer me a chance to change the world (well it was). I've never…

congratulations @tinabmai and team! one of the coolest and most ambitious swings in bio.

i’ve been deeply obsessed with the question of how to make humans less fragile. several months ago i decided to leave Stanford to research and deploy the biological machine learning methods that can get us closer. can finally share that i’ve been on the founding team…

sundheim and andreessen on cheeky pint are the best podcasts i've listened to in a long time (except ILTB)

Molly is back shipping! 🚢

The most important conversations today happen over text. The $10M close. The GP intro waiting on read. The colleague checking on dinner. All buried in the same inbox. Sometimes you blink and you miss it. Instant messaging is a privilege, not an entitlement. We've spent years…

there's also something about the buy-in cost being low with high EV. it's not a CNBC appearance that you have to prep for and taxes your mind. it's also more engaging (both as a participant and consumer) than a tweet. especially on launch days. breaking traditional media rules…

How does TBPN get the craziest guest lineup of all time every day with 200 viewers

llm simulators are under-rated.

Conflict is the toll intelligence pays to know itself.

a founder friend has two seats available on his founding team. if you are looking for an extremely hard challenge and want to work in a technical group with great taste, this is a special opportunity. they work in-person from a beautiful office in palo alto. dm for more.

it is better to optimize for surviving your bad decisions than maximizing the payout from perfect ones. life is non-ergodic. what works in probability space can fail catastrophically in your single path through time.

underestimating exponentials is the most expensive mistake in tech.

Sun is a force, excited for the @moonlake_ai team!

I told my parents that I’d like to drop out of my cs phd program at Stanford a few months back. They didn’t let me, we’re asian :) So I graduated and started @moonlake_ai. @sharonal_lee and I saw urgency, and opportunities. Excited to share that we raised a 28 million dollar…

i like to believe there will be a new generation of investment firms that are ai-native. there is tremendous alpha in using models like a decision making partner. the UX is non-obvious and can unlock new kinds of scale in decision making. feels underexplored.

silicon valley really warps people's perception of money. $5m feels like "not that much" when you're constantly exposed to big funding rounds and valuations. that's 60 years of median US household income.

internalize the power law. most effort is noise. a handful of choices compound forever.

invent a game for yourself and get really good at it.
