Very similar to how my views have shifted & I suspect far more grassroots liberal-left people than this site would make you think. For me, the Boriswave altered the demographic issues, grooming gang failures broke my trust in the authorities, as did the inability to deport even…

Listening to Alf Dubbs, @BBCr4today, he talks powerfully of absence of compassion in national conversation. For me, one issue, is how compassion has been competed out of much of UK media, social media and general discourse.

Here’s what you won’t hear from some commentators on social media: in the year to October, London recorded 10,000 fewer violent crimes leading to injury than it did in the twelve months before I was elected. More on the progress we’re making ⬇️ mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

The wonderful Dolly Parton made a choice not to spend her fortune on space travel, but instead invested in writing checks and making commitments to put over 150 million books into the hands of children. Now that’s what you call farsighted!

That's because we told EXACTLY that history in my last series! And it's not a couple of centuries later - it's contemporaneous - the plantation of Ulster and the plantation of Virginia are both in the early 17 century! bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episod…

A radio programme like the Shipping Forecast but it’s called Bin Day and it just reads out every single council in the country’s bin schedule

This heart breaking piece, written from a former insider's point of view, explains an awful lot of the background to this week's debacle at the BBC: goodallandgoodluck.substack.com/p/the-truth-ab…

This BBC story isn’t now about the editing of a Trump speech. It’s about private media giants trying to undermine a public broadcaster - to grab a bigger market share for themselves, boost their own profits, and reshape the media landscape to look ever more like Fox News.

First Trump attacks the BBC, now the Russians: ‘Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova criticised the BBC as "beyond redemption," accusing it of falsifying Russia-related stories. She says the BBC "fabricated" its coverage of events in the Ukrainian town of Bucha.’

A tech billionaire mocked Pope Leo XIV’s call for ethical AI. The post was deleted — but not before exposing Silicon Valley’s deeper discomfort: a pope they can’t buy or bully. It also revealed something older: the Valley’s original sin — the desire to be God.…

Too many commentators and BBC-exs grinding their own grudges. Big picture Trump shakedown of major British institutions egged on by enemies of plurality and impartiality in this country

SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten. "I don't think that we should allow ourselves to be bullied into thinking that the BBC is only any good, if it reflects the prejudice of the last person who shouted at it." ~AA

I had my disagreements with the BBC under Tim Davie but he was a decent man doing a difficult job. To see Trump's White House claiming credit for his downfall and attacking the BBC should worry us all.

Be comforted b the knowledge that in your attack in the BBC this week you are supported by the Mail and Telegraph, by Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage and by Donald Trump (etc) who is especially anxious to insist that he did not say what Panorama quoted him as saying - though he did

The BBC fabricated news. Their senior journalists are drunk on their own sense of influence and importance. They have even put arrangements in place to hardwire bias on issues where they should be neutral. This goes beyond news, and into factual and drama. #DefundtheBBC
