Quick note-- No house wrens were injured--or seen-- in making this photograph. In fact, the wren would probably have scared the daylights out of Copper. @YorkCountyPa #CatsofTwittter

Hm, maybe I should have cut the high grass today. Or maybe it just was exhausted after delivering all those eggs... @ExploreYorkPa #landscape #rabbits

Spring has sprinkled gold dust back onto the goldfinches, symbolic of joy, enthusiasm, positivity, and persistence. @PaStateParks #birds

'Twas a great Wednesday for all, including turtles at Gifford Pinchot State Park. To celebrate Earth Day Friday, April 22, a park naturalist will lead a 1.5 mile walk into Pinchot's Woods, exploring the trails in the Conewago day use area. @PaStateParks #parks

A more beautiful day Mother Nature hath not made! Temps here at 70, not a cloud in the sky. Compare that to Sunday night when threatening storm clouds blotted most of the sun. Well, that wasn't bad either... @LancasterPAcom #weather

Welcome April! Even barn cats are basking in the sun in early spring. This cat is 1 of 50 populating this Lancaster Co. farm. All have been 'fixed', fed twice a day and treated extremely well. This weekend will provide more sun with temps in the mid-50s. @LancFarming #Cats

Looking for things to do this weekend? Check out the 2022 Cherry Blossom Festival in D.C., runs to April 17. Temps around 60 and no rain. You and millions of your best friends can head to the Tidal Basin to see scenes like this from a few years ago. @CherryBlossFest

More than 100,000 birds is a crowd, like Middle Creek Wildlife Management area's snow geese. Imagine multiplying that number by four. Every spring, 4-600,000 sandhill cranes flock to central Nebraska. ohmyomaha.com/2020/03/sandhi…

Spring is still a few days away, but crocuses are popping up throughout the area. Temperatures in the 70s Friday and Saturday should tempt other spring flowers. The longest and most important use of the crocus is for saffron. @yorkcountypa #crocus

This robin decided to explore outside its deep woods Saturday and must have thought the snow was a cruel joke. No snow all winter, and suddenly... @yorkcountypa #snowfall #robin

Did Yorkers feel neglected that winter had passed them by? Finally we found a few inches of snow (3-6) on the ground when we crawled out of bed today, the biggest snowfall of the season. This hiker drove from Annville to visit Gifford Pinchot Park. @yorkcountypa @PaStateParks

Sunday's record-breaking temperature of 74 degrees lured a lot of Yorkers out of their homes and into the wild. Fishing boats and jet skis commanded the Susquehanna River, while walkers visited the Long Level boat ramp area. Today's temps may near the record again. @yorkcountypa

Was expecting up to three inches of snow this morning, but woke up to a world of ice. School openings were delayed but by lunchtime the ice had dripped off the trees and temperatures nearly reached 50. @yorkcountypa #icestorm

What do you call Sunday's light, fluffy snow? York County's Richard M. Nixon Park is laced with short hiking trails winding through thick forests and over hills. The 2-3 inches of 'cotton candy' snow stuck to everything, making the day perfect for a scenic walk. @YorkCountyParks

With all the rain we've had lately, this Susquehanna River ice might not survive for long. This bald eagle had plenty of ice to rest upon Wednesday south of Wrightsville. After this warmup, temps will dive into the teens again Friday night. @yorkcountypa #Eagles

Should QBs retire before their helmet is knocked sideways? This photo was taken years ago, probably when Ben Roethlisberger was just beginning his stellar career with Pittsburgh. Is Tom Brady, maybe the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) not far behind? @NFL @steelers

Back to the icicles, which just continue to grow. Temperatures won't melt them anytime soon. @yorkcountypa #cold #ice

This Great Horned Owl has acquired quite a loyal and protective fan base in Mt. Joy, Lancaster County. Last March, a falconer legally removed a baby from this nest and angered a crowd of bird lovers. Birders are closely watching the nest this year. @LancasterCounty

Icicles hanging from your home? After Wednesday's ice-melting temperatures, they'll get another chance to grow in the next few days. We'll get rain and snow Thursday, but Friday night, temperatures will crash to 5 degrees. You freeze, I freeze, icicles freeze. @ExploreYorkPA

How did your area deal with the latest snowfall? York County saw about 3-4 inches of snow, and one enterprising family left this sled at the end of the driveway for when it returned from school, shopping, or chores. By Monday evening much of the snow had melted. @ExploreYorkPA
