Good thread discussing datasets to use for teaching #rstats 👍

Hey #rstats instructors, what datasets are most important for you to teach with, especially when teaching the Tidyverse? In other words: what datasets are in the same league as Palmer Penguins?

👏👏👏 When I decided to pursue a position outside of the classic academia path, I felt a lot of guilt and shame, but looking back it was the best decision I’ve made. (1/2)

Omg I can’t believe this just worked, thank you so much!! 😄 I tried a variation of this earlier and it didn’t work 🤦🏼‍♀️ Any idea how to rename the object? It just calls it “out” 🤔

Anything and everything I know about data visualization is thanks to these books. 🙏📚 That said, for budget or time constraints, if you were looking for only one book to read, I’d personally recommend Claus Wilke’s book (clauswilke.com/dataviz/)! 😍

Frustration of the day: why do study designs get the most attention AFTER the samples are sequenced!? Plan ahead. That is all. 🙇

One of the coolest things about the @IPCC_CH #ClimateReport is that the authors are so confident about the science — they even tag sentences with their confidence! So, naturally, we visualized it. (And we summarized every chapter, too) qz.com/2043894/what-d…

This is actually so funny 👇🤣

I'm screaming 😂😂😂 I don't normally share #jokes but this #datascience one is gold. The #Matlab and #Tensorflow reactions kill me. #powerbi #RStudio and #tableau are here so I'm good with that.

Learning to code is life-changing for many b/c it’s often the 1st time they realize they can teach themselves a valuable skill despite always being told they couldn’t do it without school. Your entire identity transforms as you realize what you’re capable of. Pretty magical.

Agreed. That error and the missing bracket are two of the most common errors I see #rstats

Every data wizard has made this mistake by the way @naibehaviour 🧙‍♀️

I think you have an extra bracket

Curious what others are using as a reference for performing a data quality assessment of a messy dataset? Is there a reputable process? #rstats #DataScience #dataquality #R4DS #data #bigdata

Wow. ☹️
