Jeremy Hunt - None of us knew what a huge task this would be. There has been the most terrible oversight of women's medicine and medical devices. Until we implement the recommendations there will not just be a lack of justice there will be a risk of repeat #firstdonoharm

I started reporting on vaginal mesh in 2017 and it boggles my mind that 4 years later – and 1 year after the official review – women are still being left to suffer excruciating pain. THOUSANDS of women, too @MeshCampaign huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/women-wi…

Ep. 44, the last episode of season two, is out now. @Jenny_Coops14 shares the story of her daughter, Georgia Penelope, who died in the womb at 38 weeks’ gestation. It’s a vulnerable episode full of loss, sadness and love. Listen now via link in bio.

Ending season two with a heart-breaking story of love and loss, of four consecutive miscarriages followed by an anxious, hopeful full-term pregnancy that ended in the birth of Georgia Penelope, who died at 38 weeks' gestation. Out to patrons today, all platforms from Thursday.

What factors impact the decision whether or not to have kids, and how much do norms and stigmas play into it? In ep. 43, I talk to counsellor and psychotherapist @mgrtoconnor about being childfree by choice, and helping other people to figure out if kids are for them. OUT NOW!

Ep. 42 is about breastfeeding, bottle feeding, guilt and post-natal depression, about spending hours on end in 'the dairy' at the NICU with its industrial-style breast pumps, about the real cost of feeding and the unhelpful myths and shaming. Listen where you find podcasts!

So, so many stories. It was hard to get it all into one read (working on a separate maternity story), but I hope I did the issue justice and that we are on the cusp of change.

Yet again my timeline is full of enraging/horrifying stories of women having invasive procedures with no pain relief, and doctors telling them it "shouldn't" hurt. WHAT CAN I TELL YOU - IT DOES.

Episode 41 is out now, featuring Anita Elawure who was diagnosed with POI and entered early menopause aged 19. Listen via link in bio or wherever you like to listen to podcasts!

I'm looking to talk to women who have engaged with the Irish healthcare/maternity services in Ireland, and felt they were treated badly, misdiagnosed, not listened to or dismissed specifically because they were women. #journorequest

Bits of Jen’s story were so close to my own, this hit very close to home. I hope this reaches the ears of many people working in maternity - the impact of these births and the injuries they leave women with cast a long shadow.

In ep. 40, I talk to Jen Hall of @masic_uk about the cost of childbirth, what happens when maternity units are told to keep C-section rates low, the permanent trauma women live with after forceps births, and much more. Available via link in bio, or wherever you find your pods.

These miscarriage stories are sad and lonesome but there is a sense of relief from them too, the relief of just telling the story and talking about the loss. irishexaminer.com/lifestyle/heal…
