On the 2nd of October 2025 the Raspberry Pi foundation released a new version of the operating system called Debian Trixie. A new version 8.2 of the Internet Radio software (Beta) is being developed to support this new release. See bobrathbone.com/raspberrypi/be…


Version 8.1 of the Radio software is now on general release at bobrathbone.com/raspberrypi/be… Although this is a minor release the main change is that the station recording facility now uses LiquidSoap instead of the outdated StreamRipper program.

Version 7.5 of the Raspberry Pi Internet Radio was launched 9 July. See: bobrathbone.com/raspberrypi/pi… There are both 32-bit and 64-bit versions and the software can be installed by any user that has sudo permissions and not just user 'pi'. Also new there is new IR remote software.

A new Raspberry Pi Internet Radio manual for version 7.3 dated 5th of January 2021 has been released. This contains support for Allo DAC products for example Allo Piano. It also describes how to install the Pimoroni On/Off shutdown switch for the Raspberry pi.

Patch radiod-patch-7.3-3 for the Internet radio version 7.3 has been released and includes patch 1 and 2. This patch corrects the problem with the radio not shutting down in certain circumstances when the Menu button is held in. See constructors manual on how to install patches.

A beta version of version 7.4 has been released to run on Raspberry Pi OS Bullseye. Only the IR remote control (lirc) software is not working. Otherwise the features of version 7.4 are exactly the same as version 7.3. See bobrathbone.com/raspberrypi/be….


Version 7.3 dated 16th November of the Raspberry Pi Internet Radio software has been released. This only works with Buster and not the new Bullseye release (Version 7.4will be for Bullseye). See bobrathbone.com/raspberrypi/pi… There are a lot of changes so please read manual carefully.
