Simple street transformations that work.

Rush hour on South Water @PVDMayor won’t do a traffic study because he knows the data does not support adding an extra lane to this street.

We LOVE you PVD Bike Jam! How’s this for some “under-utilised” bike lanes, Mr Mayor????? @PVDMayor Count the number of bikes on this video, this is how many votes you are losing for removing the South Water bike lane!

Dedicated and protected bike infrastructure 😍

Yesterday afternoon, emergency services were called to a building on Clifford Street. We observed a fire truck drive up the bike lane because of car traffic and the ambulance. Great example of how two-way urban trails can improve emergency response, not prevent it.

Thanks to the construction team that saw us making the streets cooler and safer and put some bollards out there to protect us!

S. Water St is being presented at a @MassDOT innovation conference as an example of a Self-Enforcing Roadway - a street where design changes have reduced the need for police enforcement because of physical traffic calming. @PVDMayor's plan would undo this and move us backwards.

Young children riding bikes on the South Water Street urban trail. Let’s design streets that are family friendly and encourage kids to get outside and be active.

Providence deserves a mayor who believes in creating a riverfront that’s worth traveling *to* rather than one that’s as easy as possible to drive *through*

Go to South Water Street right now and you’ll find families, dogs, ice cream, and rollerblades. What you won’t find is a traffic jam. This is what it looks like when a public space works and is valued by the community. Providence needs more of these spaces, not one fewer.

So lucky to have @JohnGPVD as our city council member. This is what leadership looks like.

I may be wrong, but even adding 50 lanes to South Water St. and making the pedestrian bridge for cars only isn't going to fix the bridge problem. (This is 5:30 p.m. Monday) But let's spend $750,000 and see if one more lane will do the trick, @PVDMayor. #bridgebottleneck
