Fr, I was at an @AcornManchester meeting yesterday and we're just built different when it comes to unions. Engaging, representative, educational, but above all action-focused! We didn't just sit around talking about what's wrong with the world, we made plans to put it right!
you really should be part of this organisation, it's by far the most serious and well-run union i have been part of in my life.
We won't stand for bad landlords who are not doing repairs and are leaving our members feel unsafe 😡 So, last Wednesday we planned two member defence actions. We already had a success on Friday 🏆- we got a meeting with a head of housing for one of our members💪
WIN! 🥳 Graeme Hall, the deputy head of council, came round to Gerry's today with 7 people in tow. They agreed to all of our demands - repairs, redecorating, mould wash, compensation - and they will be offering Gerry and his daughter a place to stay over Christmas ! 🎄🏆

Gloria is 98 years old tenant and has lived in the same flat for 18 years. Her landlord is now trying to evict her through a no-fault eviction. Not on our watch👇

Direct action WINS again! After being told L&Q "couldn't give us a date" for repairs, we kept up the pressure until they agreed to send the surveying team out within DAYS to get our doors and windows repaired at Primrose E9 😎💪 The tenants united, will never be defeated! 🚩🚩

Yesterday St Judes ACORN members met to celebrate the start of the £18 million in damp and mould repairs we won! Yasmin said: "I cant describe what a monumental win these new developments will be for our community here in St Judes. After many years fading into the background...
