Cursor's computer use capability is mind-blowing! It wasn't getting the result it wanted by a curl command on the demo I am building and it wondered if it was some sort of websocket issue. It opened the browser and navigated the app and ran the test it needed. Mind blown.

Keep dreaming. Bitcoin is never going to hit $100,000!
The Minister for Censorship, Michelle Rowland, has blocked me on social media for criticising her misinfo bill - a portent of things to come if this Orwellian bill passes.
Why is business writing so dry? One reason is that so much of the writing we do in school is fake. The essays are fake in grade school and the business plans are fake in grad school. Teach kids to write fake things as kids and they'll end up writing fake things as adults.…
Correspondingly, I went into AI to help people with their chores, and not to steal their art. The field has lost its way.
If you want to change people's minds, you have to be patient. Almost nobody will come around to your position on the first encounter. Plant the seed, then let it sit. You can't rush a revelation.
Why assume that the breakthrough we need now is even MORE data, rather than better algorithms? If we can’t get AI to be solid with an entire internet’s worth of data, are we really doing AI right?
9/ But we really need a step change here. Every major AI breakthrough over the past two decades has been driven by better and more data—dating back to the original deep neural network of AlexNet on ImageNet. Scaling laws clearly illustrate where we're headed—we need more data!
🤣🎯
You're right. Having to wait 0.7 seconds instead of 1.5 seconds to get the wrong answer about something is a huge achievement ;)
The Ash conformity experiment. The experiment that explains most of human action.
“A catastrophic bug. In one customer’s account. That destroys their entire infrastructure. That you accept responsibility for? Via your CEO making a statement only on their site?” “Yes.” “…can I see it?” “No.”
Google Cloud accidentally deleted a company's entire cloud environment (Unisuper, an investment company, which manages $80B). The company had backups in another region, but GCP deleted those too. Luckily, they had yet more backups on another provider. theguardian.com/australia-news…

Alignment always should have been a separate model or adapter for the system implementer to put on top of the model. It's as stupid to put alignment on a base model as it is to put seatbelts on an engine. These are parts of a whole system.
Rumors are swirling about the deprecation of VMware Cloud on AWS. I'm proposing a helpful update for the VMC marketing page:
Hearing Broadcom have not renewed the VMC on AWS contract. VMC will enter maintenance mode and customers will be advised to move back on premises or HCVE. Such a sad end for such a great service.
A reminder that no one knows what they're doing in deep learning and why things work and that the best we can do is pray for our models to perform 🤣
Both the Bitcoin price and boating accidents are about to go parabolic.
Taxes on unrealized capital gains is the most absurd galaxy brain idea ever conceived
Because AI is still only a pattern machine (an incredibly powerful one!). Here's how to see. Take a common trick question or puzzle, change it to not be a trick, ask GPT (here's Claude since I'm on Mobile, I use GPT4 by API and it does the exact same thing).
Twitter folks who agree with this claim that AI does not “reason”: what does this even mean? I’m befuddled
