Rails has a great built in mechanic for service objects & similar patterns. It’s called ActiveJob. You can use jobs to encapsulate all sorts of business logic that doesn’t belong in the model or controller. They’re composable & testable & can be called sync or async as needed.

A new version of Programming Ruby book! Looking forward to reading this!

For over 20 years, @pragprog's book _Programming Ruby_, better known as "The Pickaxe Book", has been an entry point and a reference for the Ruby community. It was, among other things, my introduction to Ruby. It also hasn't been updated since 2013. 1/
