Every non-technical startup founder I meet asks "how much will it cost to build my app?". The answer I’m usually thinking in my head is “a lot”. The hope-filled answer is "not as much as you probably think" thanks to the explosion of No-Code options. I'll explain a little. 🧵
So, in the interest of offering hope and a way forward, I prefer to steer us into a more fruitful conversation and just ask them their budget and start from there.
I’ve built software with varying budgets and am the eternal optimist. So, I believe you can build anything on any budget if you get your priorities right.
No-Code tools can help you build but they can't give you advice on WHAT to build and WHEN to build it.
So my best advice to a new founder is get advice on your build priorities. The clues are hidden in your business model and (assuming you've launched a biz already) in your marketing signals.
One of the best places for getting sound advice from advisors is bootcamps, startup pre-accelerators, accelerators, and other founders.
