You ever be writing JavaScript and then realize you don’t fucking know JavaScript?

Basically 😒...always...still...forever and ever amen

I thought that was how one wrote JavaScript?

That makes me feel better 😹

"Oh this isn't JavaScript, this is ES6!"

You write something today & the next day it looks like some higher being wrote it.

var that = this;

Replace JavaScript with any programming language.

Once I realized it was lisp in new clothes it made more sense. But, I won't claim to know it.

I know nothing about lisp 😹

Wow! That went viral.

Literally everyone who has written JavaScript because no one can possibly know JavaScript

ATTACKED!!!!

Sometimes I’m teaching JavaScript and realize I don’t know JavaScript! Happened live on my #twitch channel. 🤷🏻‍♂️ ran up against a function I didn’t understand

I promise you even @BrendanEich would agree to this

Hah, this sounds like my everyday at 10am after my coffee. 😂😂😂

One time someone I was mentoring asked me how functions worked and I had to go away for six hours to figure it out.

I have no idea what this refers to.

the best way to write JavaScript is to not write JavaScript #troll

JavaScript was never admitted to the "Real Language" club, so you're not allowed to *learn* it. Just use it;-)

Me at work everyday

Last time when I write JavaScript was 10 years ago, recently pick it up again and found it’s totally a new language, luckily, the old way worked 10 years ago still works.

Every time man every time😂

Some JS code really does make me feel like I haven't been working with it for almost a decade tbh. "Sure, I know how JS works" *10 minutes later* "Wow, I don't think I actually know JS anymore"

Literally every time I write JavaScript that thought crosses my mind.

You don’t know how many times I look up the docs for array methods to make sure I pick the right one: shift, unshift, slice, splice, pop, map, reduce, filter etc...

That's exactly how the pros do it
