space in binary is 00100000 enter in binary is 00001101 those are 2 keys don't make sense for this joke keyboard!
I might be wrong, but computer scientists back then basically use what I think was called electromechanical calculator or something to perform general purposes of a computer.
We now use the same keyboard but keys are mapped to copy & paste
They would have been thrilled for all that. Before the programming languages, it was Punch card time.

Nope. At best, it was front panel switches. At worst it was wire plug boards. Serial devices came later.
Where is the backspace or delete key. Ohh maybe they don't have the rights to correct their errors 😆
I wasn't around in 1956 but that looks a lot like what I had in my hands recently.
