Shout out to all the makers out there who get on the internet everyday and bust their ass to push this thing forward and make it better in inconceivable ways.
What I see on this post: 1. Color contrast failures. 2. Unreadable fonts. 3. #WCAG 2.2.2 failure (snowfall animation). #WordPress themes need more #a11y and expected interfaces that convert. Not "weird" designs that confuse people or kill time on site. buff.ly/4j29DLq
I'm not a WP Engine hater at all. Quite the opposite, actually. But I do wish they would stop sending out spammy sales emails with pagespeed screenshots to clients.
Honestly, it's been hard watching people turned away from this community or told their contributions are no longer valued. There's still plenty of good, talented people working really hard in WordPress, but it's hard not to notice the leadership/vision vacuum we're now in.
The only alignment I care about in WordPress: 1. Make great software 2. Market the shit out of it Everything else is secondary. I'm hopeful that project leadership will narrow its focus and outline a vision of where WP is going next so we can all align on that.
