Tonight I have enhanced this portrait of Dorothy Catherine Draper, taken in 1839-40 by her brother John in Washington. Not only is it believed to be the first portrait taken in America, it is also the very first photographic portrait of a female.
The youth of today! I went to the Temple of Confucius in Qufu, China, & this lout just slouched around with his shirt hanging out. Not like in the good old days. Oh, hang on, this was taken 110 years ago, back in 1910. It *was* the good old days. (Original colour, not colourised)

You know the Canadian actor Donald Sutherland? Well, this isn't him. It was actually taken 102 years ago on Monday 25th March 1918 at Aqaba (now in Jordan) by Paul Castlenau. It's the French Army's Adjutant Chatellain, whom I've restored for you. I've included the original image
