Did you want to sleep here or something? Our bed now!

Friends and allies who might wanna do something neat for the GSA I advise, give me a nudge, maybe? Dreaming a little bigger this year.

My dude, I appreciate you are a very nice educator, but I think it is pretty valid to ask high school students what books are no-gos for readers' advisory. Kids are allowed to hate a book. Anyone is!

I miss friends. I recognize that I have voluntarily signed up for a stretch of time with no social life and only head down work hard, but I miss friends very badly.

Coming in 2024 to a theater near you: a gritty update of "Scarface," in which Tony Montana's brutal book cartel comes to dominate the library underworld. "Say hello to my literate friend."

FREEEEEDOMMMMMMMM.

My school year is basically over, hooray! I am a deeply disconnected extrovert who has forgotten how to friend, oh no...

Feeling more and more like I'm abandoning most social media -- and it's liberating, rather than sad.

This entire GSA meeting is just going to be about THE SUN AND THE STAR and the extent to which @rickriordan and @MarkDoesStuff need hugs and/or to provide them with therapy for the plot twists.

Gotta love how snobbish literacy clickbait tweet suggests that "read Moby-Dick, hate it, be competent at reading" or "lower yourself to love Wimpy Kid, be obviously intellectually inferior" are the either-or choices. Readers can look like either, both, or something else.

I'd just like the world to be less of an ongoing constant trash fire. Please.

I don't love that the YA fiction I just purchased is universally longer in terms of page count than some of the adult-books-for-teens I've added. I think the bloat is turning off actual teen readers, for sure, because I'm often asked directly for something that's just SHORTER.

When I teach picture book writing to teens in workshop and examine back matter and the use and importance of author's notes, THIS book is one mentor text I show BECAUSE of the note and its grace and importance. The sheer gall and cowardice of Scholastic!

Gonna tell so many kids about this beautiful @AriTison book that just arrived.

At the beginning of my career: "Welcome to library work. It won't pay a lot and the schedules will be pretty unforgiving but at least nobody will ever treat you like you're a menace to youth and an enemy of the people." 2023: "Hey, circling back: never mind about that last part."

GSA: *chorusing My Immortal for funsies in demented group interp* Me: ...is that what I think...? GSA Fanfic Ringleader: ONLY if you know what is the GREATEST LITERATURE OF OUR TIME. Me, not to be geek gatekept by freshmen: I mean, it's My Immortal... Entire GSA: *SCREAMS*
