Certifications are not Certificates. When you complete a course, you may get a certificate. This is proof of education. When you take/pass an exam, typically proctored, you earn a certification. This is evidence of meeting industry standards for a domain. (Cyber, Cloud, etc.) 🧵

My heart goes out to my colleagues who can't charge for teaching actual skill without also issuing certificates. The fact that some certificates actually mean something makes all the one that mean nothing a little more valuable. 😔
