Just reached the last chapter of "Harley Hitch and the iron forest" by @vashti_hardy, after reading it to daughter at bedtime the last few months. "A page or 2 only please, I'm tired.".. Did so. "Shall I stop?".."no! Bloody good book. Carry on.". High praise indeed!

Oh God. Science dept. My assistant is not keen on having the vaccine. "Don't know what's in it.","worrying about long term effects", "I had it, I think, it wasn't that bad", "don't like the vaccine "can/can't" division, it's like the Jews in the nazi times". Ffs...
Whoops. Keys + 500cc lawn tractor= obliteration. Nay matter. Replaced most, and auto locksmith is coming tomorrow to make a new key for the big Cit. All the more reason to look at biometric door locking, as the kids want.
Just finished reading "Darkwhispers", the second book in the Brightstorm series, by @vashti_hardy. On Kindle, because of lockdown. Couldn't put it down, and I'm not afraid to say I got a little emotional at the end. Fine work indeed.
Right. Cut up some cloths for bog roll replacements. Can I find the buckets, that's the question. Idiots stripping the shops I'm finding far, far scarier than the virus risk. So, I could die. So be it. But selfish sods making money out of a crisis by reselling? Shoot them.

This is nice. Sat in the new kitchen, the kids are watching TV in the living room... I'm hearing only a very occasional cough.. In fact, I'm going to sneak in.. It's amazing how silent a wheelchair can be... No, he's still awake. 12 hours sleep last night.. Oh yes..
I was entrusted to do their bedtimes when they were tiny..I bed shared with Izzy while she was learning to dry night (I got wee'd on a lot)..7/10 now.. Izzy sleeps on my right, Olly on my left, I sleep on my back, arms crossed, one on each. We sleep happy.. It's comforting. 🙂
I'm involving the kids in every step of this remodel. They need to know this is theirs as well.. They were the ones who found mum stroked out on the landing. We have 3 bedrooms.. One was mums, they won't go in there. One is available, but they both insist on sharing with me.
Kitchen rebuild is done. 5 weeks, this house has fought every step. Sorry dear, you're MY house now. So, coming up to a year without mum.. Bathroom rebuilt, kitchen rebuilt. All rooms will be decorated next, kids have picked their rooms of choice. Then, the garden..
Picked up the Oliver self-rebuild Christmas surprise. Bit of a size difference. Basically sound, but I'll tear it down and refurb all parts, before labelling and boxing up for him to build. The revoshift is shot, but I have enough hoarded spares to fix that..😁
That way he can use his toolkit, build a bike with it (I have a Haynes for that, plus I'm qualified in bike building), and learn the how of things as I did, growing up. I built all of mind bar one from wrecks. Hugely satisfying. He wants to take after me, let's do it. :)
Ok. Probably picking up a cheap second hand junior 6 speed mountain bike next weekend. Plan is, strip it, recon parts, box it up. Oliver wants a toolkit for Christmas, Also needs a bigger bike.. Thinking wrap the toolkit, and the frame.."son, you build your present"..
However. Being chair bound means I need to up the exercise, so I don't end up with muscular issues. Mostly upper body for now, with good leg coming in second. Bad leg can have one or 2 basic general exercises, but it's still agonising to move much.
I don't think there's anything to chuck in the living room. Dining room, maybe. Hall, yes. Bedrooms.. Oh boy, yes. Garden also. Shame the weather's shite. Working out a plan for upstairs redevelopment next.. Starting..ooh.. Next year, I reckon. Bedroom time.
Kitchen lower cupboards empty. Upper cupboards lower tiers also. Anything on the top can get fucked, I can't actually stand.🤣 6 cupboards remain. Started on the utility as well, hauling stuff into the skip. Hurts like hell, but it needs doing.
