@NovicSara Tru Biz is so validating for myself and for all my DHH patients I work with. May re-read it and I 115% recommend.

Reframing graduate coursework can help dispel potentially damaging assumptions that some clinicians might otherwise bring to work with DHH clients.
Hey @Zoom, why does a meeting host have to be the one to enable captions in meetings? This causes so many uncomfortable problems for people that rely on captions. Attendees shouldn’t have to ask permission for accessibility.
‘I’m barely clinging onto work’: Exhausted parents face another wave of school shutdowns. One of the parents highlighted has a student at Lexington School for the Deaf. Still waiting for the coverage of those students and families when school closed washingtonpost.com/business/2022/…
I would love to see a panel of teachers and students share their thoughts and experiences over the last two years instead of people who get paid to have opinions. Don’t just talk about teachers, please interview them.

Regardless of what that group has said, good studies have shown that clear masks help improve trust and communication for surgeons. I may not be a surgeon but trust and communication with patients is pretty darn important jamanetwork.com/journals/jamas…
Happy Deaf Awareness Month! Hearing loss affects 15% of Americans, and severe hearing loss is ~2% of all hearing loss. Communication, not hearing, is needed for success. I know Deaf lawyers, surgeons, race car drivers, etc. The sky's the limit when accommodations are provided.
