Every year shopify makes a website tracking the massive surge in compute on black friday. Right now they are tracking ~45+ million Kafka requests per second, and about 88,000 gigabytes of data per minute. (it's also just a really cool website)

As expected with the return of many regions, big solar flare activity has also returned. AR3869 wasted no time with going straight for an X3.3 flare earlier today with a large CME. These regions will need to be watched over the coming days as they rotate westward and face Earth.
I’m really glad people thought my updates were helpful this week! I plan on continuing these play-by-plays for future geomagnetic storms and other events. Everyone should get a chance to see the aurora if they want. :)

Consider that hiring a new grad or junior engineer makes the senior engineers better: by forcing them to explain seemingly trivial stuff (that often turns out to be not as trivial!), look at things from a different POV and grow as a mentor/leader. Plus consider the business more!
