1: Behaviour is the biggest whole-school improvement driver there is. It is absolutely key to changing a school’ culture. It is the culture. Everything stems from it. You can talk curriculum, teaching etc all you like but if the kids don’t behave you’re whistling in the wind.

Education more generally is drowning as the (positive) urge toward empathy and care has no internal limiting mechanism beyond resource, which is a weak control, thus placing increasingly impossible demands on the sector and making schools prey to Everythingism

Until we tackle validity of the SEND industry we’re doomed. Not just the Ed sector. Society. We’ve glamourised victimhood. We’ve validated self diagnosis. We need to seriously question reliability of psychiatry industry.

@tombennett71 the man up the mast has more epistemic authority than the admiral because he knows what's going on. Maybe education could learn from this naval analysis & ask classroom teachers about the state of behaviour, not the admirals.
