Democrats believe that it gets better for them the longer the government is shut down. They won’t stop “until planes fall out of the sky.” This is unreasonable and dangerous. 5 Democrats need to do what’s best for the country and vote with Republicans to open the government.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve had to remind Democrat colleagues that taking basic government functions hostage for partisan demands never pays. This shutdown won’t end until Democrats re-learn this lesson. For the sake of the American people, I hope they do so quickly.
