Looking forward to @UTSWInternalMed Grand Rounds this morning on #frailty guided management. Thank you Dr Rubin for inviting @DaeKimMD - so much that med and surgical specialists can learn and apply in this area! #gerirheum @DrRamonaRhodes1 @UTSWRheum

Missed ageism awareness day? Still important to think about! Language matters. Get rid of “silver tsunami.” Use “we,” not “they,” because we are all aging! @ASAging
“When you make enough money, you get to write the laws”
Once again and forever more, health insurance companies (and the pointless middleman companies they own) don’t care about you.
This is what loving your age looks like!
Them: “Wow, y’all don’t look like you’re in your 40’s and 50’s!” Us: “Actually? We do. This is what Black women in their 40’s and 50’s look like.” True story, bro. #BlackMomMagic
An excellent article. Stories change lives. Honored that this is such a big part of my job too #thisisgeriatrics
"In the field of palliative care, patients and families are not just experiencing the end of life or the loss of a loved one. They are writing stories about the end of their life, writing stories about the loss of their loved one." via @ChammasDani jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/…
The Health and Aging Policy Fellowship: the gift that keeps on giving. Love getting to connect with all my cofellows and hearing about the awesome work they do to support older adults! @HAPFellows @ShannonJarrott @DrAnaJessica
Frustrated by prior authorizations or peer-to-peers? Wondering why so many patients now have Medicare Advantage? @nursemarian and I just published a review of Medicare Advantage policies that clinicians, researchers, and policy makers need to be aware of! rdcu.be/dctvm
This is all so true! Geriatrics and home-based primary care adds icing to this cake 🍰 Primary Care has many joys!
As I wrap up my 5th year of #primarycare practice, I can't help but reflect on the TEN "sparks" trainees may miss out on during residency that make this work so rewarding. A 🧵of #gratitude... @CLOSLER @primarycarechat @indupartha @adamcifu @gabrieldane @GIMaPreceptor 0/11
Had fun talking with Sam Baker 🤩 about the impact of falls in older adults! Simple things can reduce your risk. Falling is not normal, talk to your PCP about possible causes and prevention. @LeaderMcConnell #thisisgeriatrics

Using ACP billing code results in 20% patient co-pay if completed outside annual Medicare wellness visits, which occurs more often for non-white patients. Reducing this disparity requires legislative action. #hapc23 @SarguniSingh, Marian Grant DNP, @Lacinda86 & @debfreelandmd
Excited to be at my first AAHPM meeting! Was wonderful to present on equity issues at the policy level for advance care planning with my fabulous Health & Aging Policy co-fellows. #hapc2023 @HAPFellows @nursemarian @Lacinda86 @SarguniSingh

Such a fun #GIMboree evening with featured guest and #homecaremedicine #MedEd ⭐️ @MLRobertsonMD :). Big thanks to Dr. Robertson for sharing her passion with amazing @BayviewMedicine & @JH_UH_Residents 🤩
Look at @whole_patients saying the hard truths. Thank you for this.
The dehumanizing effects of the preparation for medical school, medical education, physician training, and the practice of medicine - which results in physicians who are less equipped to provide humanized care to their patients. We need to help future physicians be more human.
