I spend a lot of time on Twitter helping people as much as I can and I never ask for anything in return. Now it I need to ask for help. I quit a stable job a couple of months ago to work at a startup. I was told yesterday that the startup isn't able to pay me any longer.
It's not anyone's fault, it's just how startups work. I knew the risk I was taking and I knew that this was a possibility. The problem is that I need to get some income by the end of the month or I might not be able to pay my mortgage.
Though this was always a possibility I wasn't prepared for it to happen this fast. Unfortunately, since I was working remotely I took my daughter out of daycare and now there is no way to get her back in anytime soon because the wait-list is really long.
I will need to work remotely at least until she starts school in September. I am really looking for ANYTHING. I'll be more than happy to do any work at just about any rate.
I'm willing to come on as a full-time hire, short-term hire, part-time, contract work, even if you want to pay me to help with a single feature, I'm down.
I hope I'm not coming across as too desperate. I'm just really worried. Please share this, retweet, talk to your friends and family to see if anyone needs a website or website work, etc.
I feel like an idiot for putting myself in this position. I really appreciate everyone on Twitter and I try very hard not to abuse my account for personal gain but I also need to take care of my family.
I don't want to annoy anyone by @ ing a bunch of people so please, if you see this can you give a quick retweet? Thanks
My main skillset that I'm most comfortable with is C#.NET Core. I've worked on an Enterprise React app with .NET backend and an Enterprise level Vue app with .NET backend. I'm also really good at WordPress.
You come across as a responsible parent and adult. The right time to do something is now, not hoping things will eventually sort themselves out. I wish you the best of luck finding something.
