生物の体つくりでは、細胞の運命・形・機能が規則的なパターンを形成する「自律的秩序化」が関わります。この過程では、力学作用と化学反応が相互作用しながら、細胞集団に規則的な秩序を導きます。本領域研究では、「力による多細胞社会の自律的秩序化」を司る仕組みを解明することで、生体のデザイン原理にパラダイムシフトを導出します。

Julien Vermot from UCL talked the impact of mechanical stresses during morphogenetic processes of zebrafish heart.
Jou Chan from MBI, NUS presented development of mouse oocyte and follicle cells and showcased unique techniques to manipulate surface mechanics and tissue pressure.
Other speakers including Akatsuki Kimura, Kazuhiro Aoki, Kyogo Kawaguchi, Takafumi Ichikawa, Yu-Chiun Wang, Rieko Asai, Makito Miyazaki, and Satoru Okuda also gave impressive talks. #MechanoBioKyoto
