NOt enough action on #dementia is coming from governments! Emerging from an energetic session #DFX2021 with Tarun Dua of @WHO and @octaviovergara from Chile moderated by the brilliant @nishapillai @AlzDisInt @IshtarGovia
Bill Glover of @homeinstead explains "Everything is based on relationship. If we can get a really in-depth relationship with our clients and with their families, then we're going to have a good outcome here." #DFX2021
We love and appreciate our caregivers <3 Thank you for your dedication to the job! #DFX2021
"Dementia care needs the perfect balance of high care and high touch. While other jobs may go away because of technology, #dementiacare will be enhanced by that." - Melissa Mitchell, @AgeofAging #DFX2021
Dr Tarun Dua, @WHO explains "School-age children need to be made aware of dementia-related challenges and how people living with dementia can be actively engaged. Any country plan needs this kind of multi-pronged strategy." #DFX2021
That's a wrap on an energetic discussion on government policies, #investment and research in dementia at #DFX2021. Thank you @PaolaBarbarino of @AlzDisInt, @octaviovergara and Dr Tarun Dua of @WHO. We encourage participants to continue the dialogue in our networking sessions!
How can we reach more vulnerable populations such as indigenous groups and people in #LMICs to reduce the incidence of #dementia globally? #DFX2021
Thank you Prof @MiiaKivipelto, Prof @Gill_Livingston, Prof Adesola Ogunniyi and Dr Susanne Röhr for the insightful discussion on #dementia risk reduction and early interventions. #DFX2021
In response to the pandemic, First Lady of #Chile @ceciliamorel says, "We had to ensure the rights of the people living with dementia while also looking after their vaccination process. Respecting, of course, caregivers and helping along in the decision-making process." #DFX2021
We love to see your feedback! We hope you are excited for Day 2 of #DFX2021!
