I don't have an issue with so-called 'Imperative UI programming', as it can actually be closer to the way users percieve interactions "When I click the button, I expect the color of the status icon to turn green, and a new image is to be added underneath the existing ones"
On Tailwind: one of the often cited benefits is the use of predefined scales, leading to consistency and ease of authoring. Funnily, that part isn’t limited to “utility-only” frameworks. See github.com/andy-piccalill… for one example Why not have the best of both worlds?
Working on launching a new site / blog. For the most part, the tooling has just got out of the way, and I've mainly been able to focus on content. It's been very enjoyable!
Think about how for many people, the former will have been their only taste of remote working, and they’ll STILL want to stay remote rather than go back to being based in the office
How was Facebook scraped? Effectively, the attacker created an address book with every phone number on the planet and then asked Facebook if his ’friends’ are on Facebook.
My favourite thing about promoted tweets is that I don’t see that they’re promoted until I’ve read them
“We often say we’re ‘self taught’ but what we really mean is we have never met some of our teachers” -@kelseyhightower Those teachers could be the authors of the books you read, the instructors/curators of the online classes you take, your Twitter mentors, ANYONE.

I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're referring to as Rails is in fact Ruby on Rails, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Ruby plus Rails. Rails is not a stack unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning Ruby system made useful by the…

Programmers can literally just sit down at a computer and create bugs for people out of thin air. It’s magical.

Code is communication
Although we're writing code for computers, that code impacts humans. "Soft skills" are not a "nice to have" quality: they're imperative. If you don't work on your "soft skills" your code (and your product) will suffer.
So it turns out Spotify on Apple Watch doesn’t work without a phone, as I find out when I start my run. Still, it was actually nice to run without anything in my ears, and to hear the sounds of the world around. Thinking of running with music at a lower volume in general now 🤔
