🎯 staff “on the ground” are usually under paid, over worked, & dealing with really heavy shit all day every day & the higher ups are all out of touch who view us as numbers & deliverables. People served are props to make them feel good about “the work” they do 👎🏼
Non-profits are a capitalist solution to capitalist problems. They are not here to liberate anyone, quite the contrary. When the pandemic hit & ppl were losing jobs executive staff at my job said “well at least it’s good for us bc we’ll get more contracts for more shelters” LMFAO
A clever organization would be putting up billboards and commercials with the biblical scriptures on jubilee as a campaign for student loan debt relief and medical debt relief in traditionally red states and districts.
I wish Republicans would use their "Christian Values" to make interest on loans illegal like the Bible says it should be for your fellow countrymen
Most unhoused people have evictions on their records that make it impossible to rent a market rate apartment ever again. WE NEED HOUSING WITHOUT BARRIERS. Publically owned, maintained, affordable, and not dependent on credit or other economic screening tools.
No therapy/medication given to an unhoused person is going to repair their credit, give them 3x the rent in deposit, 3x the rent in income, positive references, and increasing income to cover rent increases for years. The for profit housing system is not set up to house the poor.
this morning, atl city council voted to fund #copcity as many of us expected they would. which is why i addressed my comments not to the snakes that mock democracy; but to you, the people of atlanta. to remind you that we have all the power to #StopCopCity
