Over the past few days I have struggled over how to express my thoughts on the George Floyd situation and systemic racism (especially through tweets), but as a black person in the Dubstep scene I feel like I have to at least say something. Here's a thread of various thoughts:
I was arrested on June 2nd, 2020 with around 100 other protesters in Los Angeles. While I was ziptied and facing the wall, two male officers joked behind me about my gender presentation: "Do you think it's a female? Are you sure?"

George Floyd and I were both arrested for allegedly spending a counterfeit $20 bill. For George Floyd, a man my age, with two kids, it was a death sentence. For me, it is a story I sometimes tell at parties. That, my friends, is White privilege.
Do NOT hashtag BLM or Black Lives Matter with a black box. You are effectively silencing civil rights and restricting resources and vital information. People are in the field and are relying on real time info!
