After a long period away from any development work due to ill health, I am super motivated to get back into all things web development. Itโ€™s been about 5 years since I worked on anything which in web development terms is like an eternity! Yikes!! youtube.com/watch?v=d87b-Lโ€ฆ

Day 2 of #100DaysOfCode 27th Aug 2021. Today I learned about arrow function syntax and the basics of arrays and a couple of methods of filtering the items of the array. I was using the filter method and the map method. See photos of my code and the console results. #LearnToCode

Day 1 of #100DaysOfCode Wed 25th August. Using 3 different ways to create objects and view their properties and methods in the console. It's interesting that the draw method in the class one adds the method to its prototype.

As a British person, I really do love Americans, they have taught me sooooo much through the internet, but when they use that word 'gotten'...๐Ÿ˜ฑ...it drives me nuts!! Also when they say, 'whats up', im like, nothings up? Should there be something up? ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ I luv em though.

Anyone ever had to develop a web interface that plays nice with IE6 - IE9? It's 'fun'.๐Ÿคฃ The common mistake people used to make is to style for IE6 first and then upwards. Always style for the compliant browser FIRST then degrade to others.๐Ÿ˜

Want to learn OOP and become a better programmer in the least amount of time? Study design patterns. Don't just learn the code but truly understand the specific problem/s each one solves. Design patterns are great for rapid team communication. Ok, guys lets use a factory pattern

As a developer, I have learned the hard way that sleep deprivation is a huge barrier to efficient learning and knowledge retention. Most of us need no less than 8 hours. Get a sleep/wake time pattern and stick to it if you want to maximise your brain potential. ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜

How many Web Developers consider videography and photography as part of a full stack web dev? Lets face it many clients want good photos and video content on their apps, why not embrace these additional money earning skills? #webandvideography #webandphotography #fullstack

Good Practice: Comments should never be the only way that you document your code. Choosing sensible names for variables and functions, writing unit tests, and creating literal documents are other ways to document your code. #codingstandards #codingbestpractices #fullstackdev

This is one of the books I'm reading atm, just at the early chapters but really loving it. I'm not affiliated in any way, but just thought I would share because it's nice and easy to read, yet very informative. #aspnetcore #netcore #fullstackdeveloper #dotnetbooks

Ha ha, actually when I look back this has been my biggest error and regret in programming. I became a professional code Googler. Time to change and actually learn the craft of writing from scratch. #fullstackdeveloper #learntocode #codingmistakes #coderegret

When I think just 9 days ago I had nothing, not even the channel. It's not that status thats important, it's the progress and a little progress is still progress. #newbiecoder #learnfullstack #selftaughtdeveloper

I guess this is what im doing but my focus will initially be on vanilla javascript. To me this is the bedrock of the web. Without javascript the web could be a very dull place.

I'm going back to basics and learning css. My goal is to do all the challenges on frontendmentor.io

Without ANY doubt, #javascript is the #firstprogramminglanguage I would recommend any new #webdeveloper to learn. Javascript is FREAKIN everywhere!! It's an absolute essential language to master if you want to be a good confident webdeveloper. #thecandocoder

This has always been a weakness in me and is something I am really trying hard to work on. I agree that just writing code is only one part of a wider spectrum of skills. #fullstackwebdeveloper #learntocode #codenewbie #softskills #interpersonalskills

I think EQ and developing and interpersonal skills are essential for programmers. Has anyone else felt stupid after talking to a senior when they were a junior? #javascript #programmer #WomenWhoCode #womenintech #frontend #100DaysOfCode #react #reactjs #reactnative #newcoder
