It's pretty magical when this happens. #openupresources #iteachmath #buildingthinkingclassrooms

Students worldwide are struggling right now. With summer just around the corner, this is a nice reminder that things are not normal yet. Compassion and grace go a long way, and its okay to change expectations. nytimes.com/interactive/20…
My 15th graduation ceremony as an educator. I'll never stop being proud of them. Congrats #classof2022 #acsammanjordan #jerash

A new type of typeface might be beneficial to neurodivergent readers! 🤯 It's called bionic reading — the first few letters are bolded, making it easier for readers to glide through text and stay focused. (links in reply)

One of my freshmen called me "the Marry Poppins of Math" today. I'll be adding that to my resume!
15 years later and students still enjoy this simple card sort to better see the connections between functions and the graphs of their derivatives. I love listening to their math vocab while they work. #iteachmath #acsamman #apcalculus

One of my #apcalc students made some art for my new classroom. #theyrenotwrong #iteachmath

This was a great way to learn about the school culture at my new school. I'm very excited to be working here! #acsamman #firstdayofschool

I am so thankful for the lovely welcome from #acsamman After a long flight, it was such a comfort to be dropped off at our new home and find dinner waiting, a stocked fridge, and clean linens on the beds. We are off to a positive start! @dtswanson

The #classof2021 has had their lives flipped upside down. I'm glad they still have a sense of humor! #flippedclassroom #flipclass #seniorprank #acsabudhabi

"Instead of saying “Great!” or “Fine,” imagine if we answered, “Honestly, I’m languishing.” It would be a refreshing foil for toxic positivity — that quintessentially American pressure to be upbeat at all times." nytimes.com/2021/04/19/wel…

The neglected middle child of mental health can dull your motivation and focus — and it may be the dominant emotion of 2021.
My seniors finished their last day of HS yesterday. I've been with that class for the past three years, and I am going to miss them dearly. I'm so thankful to have had such a wonderful group to go through the ups and downs of the last year with. They are incredible people.
"I feel this sense of guilt that I'm not a good enough teacher for my students and I'm not a good mother for my own kids." npr.org/2021/04/19/988…
medium.com/q-e-d/my-daugh… Please allow me to give a vulnerable and sad update. My daughter now suffers depression from failure--in which she attributes 75% to school. She feels she has no identity or purpose in life. That she isn't good enough...even though she loves math and art.
I just finished recording the final lesson for my #aahl #ibmath course on #edpuzzle. Two years of HL content. Over 20 hours of video. I can't believe I made it! #flippedclassroom #remotelearning #iteachmath #acsabudhabi
