Ivor Cutler was born in a Scotch sitting room 102 years ago today, a true national treasure. Here’s his portrait by Michael Knowles in the National Gallery, always makes me smile. #ivorcutler #lifeinascotchsittingroom @NatGalleriesSco

Good to start the year to recognise the great work done on Mental Health by our alliance in partnership with @BellaSankey @huxley06 and their team. We were sorry that @BellaSankey wasn’t able to be with us but look forward to meeting in the next few days.

Today's poem, 'If you didn't know what a storm is' by Matt Gilbert @RichlyEvocative, captures the atmosphere and ferocity of a storm. Read the full poem at the link below, or through the link in our bio: inksweatandtears.co.uk/matt-gilbert-2/

King Charles who loves killing foxes, birds, and badgers has been made Patron of the RSPCA. King Charles used his power to block a ban on Fox Hunting and to make sure it is the joke ban we currently have. RT if the RSPCA should remove him.

King Charles & Prince William’s estates avoid tax, charge the NHS £11.4M for ambulance storage & force tenants to live with damp, mould & fuel poverty. The monarchy clearly lives in another world. How much longer will we allow such privileges? It’s time to rethink the system.

It was a total pleasure to review this fantastic book! Hope this whets your appetite if you haven’t got your copy yet. A CELEBRATION OF RESILIENCE: On 'The Bone Folder' by Cáit O'Neill McCullagh - Glasgow Review of Books ⁦@drunkmusepoetryglasgowreviewofbooks.com/2024/10/31/a-c…

I edited this book. I’m very proud of it. Proud of the author. Urgent and necessary, yes 🔥 James McConachie is such an impassioned, acrobatic writer. Many poems leave you breathless. @jamesmcconachi1 - ‘Consolamentum’ is superb 🤩

Thanks so much IS&T and everyone who read the excellent poems involved, and voted. I’m a bit flabbergasted- enough to have a glass of wine on a school night. Just the one, mind.
