The mass exodus of teachers from the profession concerns many in the profession including me. I know it has been said before, but everyone I talk to who has left, none of them have left because of the kids. Not a single one. /2
A collaborative faculty is worth more than a school improvement plan.
I felt differently 10 years ago, but more and more I am starting to believe that Algebra 2 should only be a class required of kids that are planning to go to college. If kids are not college-bound, I think a financial math class would be way more valuable. #mtbos #iteachmath

The work/life balance for teachers has never been worse and it’s making it hard to retain high quality teachers.

I am so glad I kept around my old baby doll shirts. First of all, they are the only shirts that make me look flattering after my surgery this past summer. But apparently they are back "in" because I have never gotten so many compliments from teenage girls in my life! 😂
The 5 minutes a principal spends in the hallway can do more for culture than the 50 minutes they spend in a staff meeting. Presence trumps policies.
Plans for this weekend... Laundry, apple picking, football watching, meal prepping, fire pit watching, Costco visit, more football watching, grad school work, and no grading or school work. A weekend 100% for me and my family for a change.
