So there's no need for clarification: I really don't want Auburn to hire Hugh Freeze. If that happens, no amount of winning will ever make me comfortable with it. There will always be a sense of foreboding. NCAA rules are one thing. Freeze has a propensity for worse.
Freeze wouldn’t be a disappointing hire just because his ceiling is lower than Gus’, though that’s certainly part of it. He’d be disappointing because he has no moral compass and I don’t trust him to give a single shit about those kids. I genuinely hope this is a smokescreen.
Surely Auburn didn't go through all this just to land a worse version of Gus.
