Until you stop letting the market indexes and hindsight pressure your trading, you will never be a great stock trader. You must learn to insulate yourself from external distractions AND internal delusion and neurosis.
He’s right that it’s wasteful. But the attitude that accompanies the waste is load-bearing in the success of our aviators. You’re not going to win a war with the guys in the ejection seats more worried about bean-counting than performance-pushing.
If you can faithfully do that you will always be around for the good times. Stay grounded in your own process & trading and IGNORE what other people are doing and especially ignore what they are saying
